Missha Brand Review

A few years ago, when BB Cream was introduced to the beauty world, I excitedly scoured makeup sites and store shelves in my quest to test what seemed to be the new Holy Grail of beauty products. After months of trying out and throwing out various tubes, a friend suggested the Korean brand, Missha. She swore it was the ultimate beauty balm out there, and it was affordable, too! So I purchased a tube of the M Perfect Cover BB Cream in No. 23 (we wish to see soon at Calyxta!), and it delivered everything it promised to my skin.

Missha first hit the much-adulated Korean skincare scene back in the early 2000. It offered a budget-friendly alternative to the then luxury-dominated beauty market. Through the years, Missha built a cult following among beauty aficionados with its high quality product line containing effective ingredients that result in what we all want—radiant and glowing skin. While most beauty brands promise instant change, Missha, on the other hand, promotes “gradual change over time”, a more realistic approach that left fans of the brand immensely satisfied.

Years into using and re-purchasing my favorite BB Cream, I still have yet to find something that can outdo it. At some point, I started trying out other products on the brand’s arsenal. My two other favorites are the Time Revolution Facial Treatment Night Repair Science Activator Borabit Ampoule, P1,300, and the Closing Cover Palette Concealer, P400. The former is a supercharged, highly concentrated serum infused with Borabit extract that repairs wrinkles and whitens skin. The latter is an all-in-one concealer palette that can be used to cover dark circles, blemishes, and dark spots. To be honest, Missha’s entire Time Revolution Line (serum, spot eraser, essence) receives raves from beauty forums online, and I cannot wait to give the entire range a try. Other than these two personal Missha favorites, the K-beauty brand also offers a plethora of other products, from brow mascara to hand cream, all of which promise the best results with continuous use over time.

Back then, Missha was inaccessible here in the Philippines. There was a time Id even ask friends who were heading over to Korea to buy my faves. Great news though, our favorite Korean cult brand is now available on, and we are just a few clicks away from amazing Korean popstar-esque skin.
